KDE 4.0 is the innovative Free Software desktop containing lots of applications for every day use as well as for specific purposes. Plasma is a new desktop shell developed for KDE 4, providing an intuitive interface to interact with the desktop and applications. The Konqueror web browser integrates the web with the desktop. The Dolphin file manager, the Okular document reader and the System Settings control center complete the basic desktop set.
KDE is built on the KDE Libraries which provide easy access to resources on the network by means of KIO and advanced visual capabilities through Qt4. Phonon and Solid, which are also part of the KDE Libraries add a multimedia framework and better hardware integration to all KDE applications.

Oh you might want to add that some KDE don't have the "geedit" comand in it and that they will have to down load it through the apt-get comand . eh found htis out with some stuff Iam working on and one of my Ke desktop enviro ments didnt have it. However Gnome had it.
hmm aslo seems a few buggs in the icon areas depending on what KDE version one has IE mint , ubuntu, ect. mainly one instalation of KDE gave me nothing but "?" on one version of KDE save for a few of the main programs like te office suite..
Other then that on other KDE is works like a charm..
any how, jsut htaught I would leave that Note.
I also found many bugs.. I'm not interesting to KDE 4 on both of my ubuntu 7.10 and Kubuntu 7.10. I am waiting for Ubuntu KDE 4 release. If you want to decorate your desktop, just go to http://gnome-look.org
I has been change the desktop with Mac look.
