A second batch of 80 Malaysian peacekeepers has leave for Lebanon UN mission.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the group, leaving on Oct 21, would replace part of the 257-strong Malaysian contingent (Malcon) force there mandated by the United Nations since June 2007.
He said the second group, specialising in security detail and administrative work, would include 10 female soldiers.
Najib, who is also defence minister, made the announcement at the breaking of fast ceremony at Masjid Makmur, 10th Mile Army Camp here yesterday.
He said Malaysia was proud of its contributions to UN peacekeeping missions around the world.
